Life One
I love how big his hands came out.

Life Two
I’ve started another blog – I intended to use this one only for drawings/experimental stuff, but I keep getting this urge to waffle and post other things which don’t really fit so all extraneous stuff will now go here.

…which I no longer drink. I gave it up last March and I’m so glad I did, I had no idea how anxious it made me and how much havoc it played with my blood sugar until I stopped drinking it. But I still hang out in coffee shops – I just drink hot chocolate or herbal tea…

Reading the Paper
Well I went to the hospital last week for my tests and they couldn’t get the canular in. They often have problems getting a vein in my arm, I don’t know why, but anyway, the first nurse tried twice without success, then she went and got another nurse to try. She pulled the tourniquet so tight my arm felt like it would explode, then she began digging around in my arm for a vein. Now it didn’t hurt that much – I’ve felt worse, but I can tell you I just wanted to snatch my arm away and yell at her – and I began to feel sick. Suddenly there’s blood everywhere – she found a vein alright but unfortunately she was also unable to get the canular in. By this time 3/4 of an hour had passed and I just wanted to leave! My arm was sore, but they couldn’t use my other arm because no veins were coming up at all on that one so they said I could wait for half an hour then try again, or make another apppointment. Wimpishly, I said I’d make another appointment and I’m not looking forward to it, I can tell you! I used to have a phobia of needles – brought on by precisely this kind of problem when I had tests as a child – it’s making me revisit all those horrible childhood memories. I cannot wait for this to be over.
At least this will likely be the worst thing I experience…

Health wise I haven’t been too good lately, anyway my hospital appointment finally came round yesterday but it turned out to be rather lengthy – I was in the Diabetes and Endocrinology clinic for two hours then had to go and wait for some blood samples to be taken. However it provided an oppportunity to draw a few people – just as well as I have to go back on Monday for tests to see how my adrenal and pituitary glands are functioning. This involves lots of waiting around – a blood test, then an injection, wait for 30 minutes and another blood test, then wait another 30 minutes before more blood is taken – then I can go home. I’ll definitely be taking my sketchbook and pen!
