You’d think I drew the left foot first, wouldn’t you – but no, it was the right. I had diffculty because I started with the little toe instead of the big.
Having realised this I did another – this time starting with the big toes on both feet and voila:
Why beginning with the big toes should help with getting lines in the right places I have no idea – it’s not how I would start if I was looking at the paper. I then drew my right hand, but this was a bit tricky – I had my sketchbook on my knee and nothing to hold it with. Not a bad result however, but I don’t know why it’s so huge!
I have tried doing these drawings from photographs but as with any other drawing, I find it much harder and less enjoyable. I do draw from photographs, but I really don’t understand those people who seem to prefer it.- I’d pick drawing from life any day.
